Tuesday, August 19, 2014 - [Pole Performance 2 ! 15th Aug.]
[I wrote this to myself on the bus on the way to pole performance last friday, but my mood is better today so my edits will be in brackets~]
Today's another one of those frustrating days. Why is life so
difficult! Well of course it has so be, otherwise it's.. meaningless or
whatever. I should say why cant I get a break, why must there be
constant challenges. Solve one problem, another 10 pop up, or sometimes I can't even solve the first one!
I hate the thought of
wasting time and wasting my life away. People say "You're only 21, you're
studying, many people don't get that chance. But many others get more
and are so much more accomplished already!" I feel so naggy But I really
wish Zac would do something. Okay he doesn't enjoy uni, he doesn't know
What he wants yet, but why can't he just get a job in the meantime
instead of wasting time away? [YAY! He's been applying!]
I hate thinking about uni and pole and Tupperware and the missing dog.
First
the dog, I know I'm not allowed to have one, but I do, and it's been
both annoying and heart warming experience. Sometimes I just feel
tired and want a cuddle or I want to distract myself. Sometimes He
nudges me too much, tries to eat everything and makes me want to give
him away. Sometimes when I'm alone at home he's there to keep me
company. And it saddens me that I've always wished I didn't have him and
suddenly he's gone and I regret ever wishing that. And it's stupid
because I know if he comes back, sooner or later I'll get irritated
again and take him for granted and wish I could get rid of him again.
But right now, all my memories of picking him out, raising him, training
him are flooding my mind and it haunts me every day. Please just come
home and annoy me with your overly cute face and overflowing curiosity
and need to chew everything and shed your fur everywhere. We found a
good house.. with a big yard and a dog park next door.. we need you
back.
[It's been 2 weeks now.. 100 flyers given out, posters at bus stops and lamp posts up to 15minutes away.. knocking on doors, posting in RSPCA, Animal Shelters and Neighbourhood watch groups. Not.A.Single.Sighting/Call.
You know why? Because I know he's been stolen. Because he's so pretty, a pure bred, super obedient, friendly, a damn fine coat of fur. Jet never leaves Bowser (another dog living with us) and always follows him around. There's no other explanation why we would find Bowser 5 doors down from us and Jet missing. This son of a bitch, I don't care if you have a dying child whose last wish is a cute puppy, I don't care if your mother has a terminal cancer and misses her own Border Collie that passed away before and wants a new one. YOU DON'T FUCKING TAKE WHAT'S NOT YOURS. IT'S LIKE LOSING A CHILD! LOSING A LIFE! GODDAMMIT RETURN HIM TO US]
I feel so stressed to get
sales and host This amazing party for Tupperware. Yes I really want a
Job and some extra money, but this seemingly easy Job is giving me way
too much stress than it should. Because I don't want to fail. I want to
host the best party, get the highest sales because I know I can. I've
never held a party in my life and I know nothing especially of white
culture. And I hate to burden someone else to help me but I have to. I
hate it I hate it. I would gladly go around selling and demonstrating I
just can't wait to get this party over because I don't know how to be a
host. My past has frightened me and I .. I don't want to feel that
again.
[Plans are going well (: given out some invitations will give out more tomorrow yay!! Not feeling so stressed about it now, just excited to move to the new house in 2 more days and decorate the house]
Performing for pole the first time was
so exciting and fun. Maybe because it was my first time and people were
coming to see me and I love to dance. I still do. But my excitement level
for today is so low.. Maybe because of everything else. The moving,
the money involved in moving, the uni assignments.. Or maybe because
our costume plan failed [the theme for the event was "Forest Dwellers" so we decided to be cats.. later on decided to be Red Riding Hood, Bek and I bought cloth and made a hood then no one else did...] or maybe because .. I DON'T KNOW. all I know is I
don't feel good today!
[The performance didn't go badly (: in fact I think Bek and I killed level 2 and our level 3 group was amazing ^-^ well yeah, we're not professional performers so I think we were really good hehehehe

So this post is really late, it's the 20th now, and I just came home from a level 4 lesson and I feel slightly disheartened. I don't like it when different instructors teach us because they teach differently and they teach different things. Instructor 1 said do this move this way and to this timing, Instructor 2 comes in and says what? you haven't learnt this? No you're doing it wrong.

So much has happened recently ! ! !
Not even exaggerating, mm where to begin where to begin.
1. Laptop is still not fixed ): so sadly I'm using Zac's one with the wonky trackpad, I've just procrastinated too much on blogging, I really want my macbook back T_T .. Speaking of which, probably getting a new one which is $2,399, or $3,199 whoopee doo. Just why did you have to die on me, what did I ever do to you ): I know everybody's gonna tell me not to buy a Mac again, like whyyy? One just died on you and you wanna buy it again. I've just really grown used to it and I really like it. SO SHHHHHHHHH.
2. So recently let's see, I had my first ever Super Smash Brothers Melee tournament. I didn't exactly sign up for the Singles division but I played anyway O_O Was a pretty small place, a trading card store I believe. I can remember some faces now hurray. So because it was our 1st year anniversary Zac said he would team up with me in Doubles ~ Naturally we lost 4 games in a row. XD I even wore Mr.Woxy (the giant bow Dave got for me) to the tourney! D: didn't bring me much luck. Mr. Woxy is powerless without Dave ! DDD:
I really wanted the Mario one ): which Zac claims is his tournament controller but about a couple months ago he tried to sell it on eBay. Actually he did. It sold and I scolded him for selling such a pretty controller. Give me to me if you don't want it. He ended up telling the buyer that our house was robbed and the controller was stolen or damaged or something like that and apologized.
The buyer gave him a 5star rating saying "Honest seller!"
WOOOOWWWWWWWW..
Assignments ARGH.
I'm sure I've said this already, but the workload feels significantly bigger this year than the previous years. <s>So after slacking for 4weeks,</s> I've been doing work consistently now, keeping up with lectures, doing my own revisions and chipping away at assignments each day.
Especially with Film Analysis class, the lecturer makes so many references to movies I've heard of but never seen or never heard of. He plays lots of clips in class to demonstrate the mise en scene, symbolism, narrative structure etc. There's also this dude in my class who raises his hand every minute and asks a question of inserts a comment. I'm sure both the lecturer and my tutor are pretty annoyed by him. He seems to have seen every movie show shortfilm documentary thingy ever and knows every one in the entire history of film. It makes me worry alittle. I mean yeah, I wanna produce so I probably need more people skills, time management and negotiating skills than all that knowledge. But still... that dude's scary.
Been watching a movie each night, or trying to, sometimes I'm just really sleepy.. actually I watched 2 movies in a night other night. See I'm so hardworking. Watched the more famous shows like Titanic, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, and some other films like Juno, Red Dog, Princess Bride and The Great Gatsby for analysis. Maybe some of you think the films aren't that great but when you have to dissect each frame of the film: why this line or particular word was said, why the director chose to focus that one extra second on this object, why the objects in the background are arranged that way, you realize how truly amazing they are.
I think Zac's been enjoying my film homework because he's always scooting over to watch with me :3
Yeah.. we finished Titanic at about 4am. lulz. But I enjoyed in thoroughly despite being sleepy. I used to study Literature in school, mind you I was total pro :3 And sometimes when I have to do analysis I feel so disorientated, sort of. I keep thinking I should really be reading the script or the original book and analyze that instead. Because stuff like themes and motifs are probably not created by the director but it's in the original story and the director has to put that in otherwise the story isn't properly translated to film.
People always ask the tutor, was that really meant to be there? was that just a coincidence. From what I've learnt in high school and junior college. There is no such thing as coincidence.
4. 60s themed 60th birthday
It was Zac's papa's birthday the past weekend, after the Smash tourney, also our anniversary XD (I enjoy saying that alot because it feels like we've been together longer than a year, but no it's only been a year :o) So we got him two books but this one didn't arrive in time, so it's currently sitting on our desk. I flipped through it and it's pretty interesting but I have my own lecture slides to read so maybe another time ):
Thankfully the Playbook arrived, he received alot of AFL related gifts though, so why not one more sports related gift
So this party.
Zac was legit freaking out over the costumes so on the day itself we went to hire a set of costumes. Not that we're last minute people, the shops in the city unexpectedly closed at 4pm on a Friday, supposedly late night shopping on Fridays. And the other stores we tried to go to had closed down. Now isn't that convenient.
First thing that caught my eye were those boots on the left of the picture. AHHHHH . I got a pair of white ones because I HAD TO !!!
He's very in love with it now, he carresses it a few times a day :x
Also our fabbbuuuu new sheeets ! 450dorra reduced to 180dorra. Hurrraaayyyyy !! The sheets seem to get softer with each sleep (:
That's all clothes, and a hat, coats and stuff :3 one lovely package from Sports Girl. I'm just so lazy to go buy it from the physical store :x It came by express post the very next day anyway!

Of course the loss is entirely my fault, but in my defence, I haven't touched the gamecube controller in months my fingers felt weird and I was never good in my history of 1hour of playing Smash. Also picked Peach which I barely use just because I thought she'd be easy to float around and survive but nah, I shoulda used Marth all the way :x [All the while before this day arrived Zac's like "oh yea, we probs make it to top 3 or so" so that went well :3 Sad that he had to forfeit his Grand Finals round because we had other engagements, so the mighty Syke finally didn't emerge Champion at a tourney XD]
Also second big excuse for playing badly is that I was given the Orange controller.

This outfit was so comfy and well cut, I wuuvvvv it ! I guess the pictures don't do much justice to it, Chris (Zac's brother-in-law) probably has some better ones after all he only took about 600 photos that night XD

Did you know it was our anniversary that day? Which is the 29th of March, which was Good Friday in 2013.
It was my first time going to the Mehonoshens' house. I really stopped myself from taking pictures after someone told me "You know, people generally don't like pictures of their house taken". So I'm sorry the beautiful place shall remain in my head and unknown to the internet. I think they did a splendid job of hosting the party, the layout of the party was nice, the food and drinks were good. The girls baked deeeelicious cupcakes for everyone!
Intially this was covered by a cloth and I thought wowwww Len gets a 3-tiered birthday cake! Red Velvettttt, if you know me, you know I dislike pastries, cakes, breads and stuff, except I like donuts and pies. But I usually never eat sweet stuff, so if I do eat it and I say I like it, you've really done well :DD
5. I was left at home alone for a couple hours the other day, and I was procrastinating so I went to play with the little make-up I have. I really need a new liquid eyeliner, and a white eyeliner and blush and some new eyeshadow brushes and probably a nice red lipstick - yes steph I still haven't gotten my Russian Red ): I should probably get a tube of mascara as well because the only tube I have is probably dried up and yeah.. I think I should get some bronzer and better concealer lol. THAT'S ALMOST EVERYTHING! STEPH HALPPPPP ~
Anyway I did my best, sorta, I didn't try to draw the perfect curve or tail actually, yes so I did my best with the wig, eyeliner and brown contacts. I also finally managed to put on fake eyelashes hurray!! I usually take 10years to put it on and then I give up because it's always threatening to fall off and looks like it's poking out and feels weird and my eyelids are stuck together.. etc etc . I'm so happy I succeeded. Also I can always put it on the left eye and never the right. God that's so weird, I'm right-handed but the left eye's eyeliner will always look better and I can always draw it in one smooth stroke but I colour the shit out of the right eye -_____________-
Anyways so fun being a girl!

The wig is soooo fabulous, I really want to wear it out but Zac and Len said "NAH! Doesn't suit you" *ultimate heart break* It feels good too, 'cause I miss having a fringe after having a fringe for about 5 years I decided to grow it out last year :3
6. NEW THINGS AGAIN ! YUSSSS, I've recently received gigantic parcels and several small ones to the point that Zac's like "EH WOMAN, WHAT IS ALL THIS. YOU STAHP SPENDING RITE NAO"
but really everything I'll show you now added up to $200 D: But before we get to my stash .. Zac bought a new bag!! :DDD It was 40dorra from Typo. It's very amazing and I have to talk about this because Zac never buys anything unrelated to Computers or Games or Consoles or ... stuff like that. He doesn't buy clothes or shoes or normal man stuff, I have to make him get them lol. Although he was frowning at me alittle saying .. "It's so cute ! But it's .... $40"
was priceless. lmao. Just buy it you dopey, I'm so glad you WANT to get something for yourself.

Wednesday, December 04, 2013 - [#1: Atelier Rorona]
Salutations everyone :3
Today's been a lonnnnggg day in the workshop. Literally.
I've embarked on a quest to complete all the Atelier games ~ only because one of them is named meeee :D What on earth is Atelier? Well wiki says
Meet Rorona~ the first alchemist in the series. The Alchemist of Arland (that's the kingdom she lives in)
Rorona's name is actually Rorolina Frixell but she shortens everyone's name so everyone else in the game will have a nickname given by her. So Rorona is your character. All you do, or all I've done so far is control her to gather materials from the woods and fight creatures to gather their skin and drops to synthesize in her workshop and give those potions away to the townsfolk.
But why? Why must this poor girl slave away in the workshop and battle ferocious beasts and brave the rocky terrains to collect items? ):
Because, Rorona's family was saved by Astrid, Rorona's senpai, the master alchemist, I'm not sure how and what happened, but now the Frixells owe a huge debt to Astrid and poor Rorona is bound to her now.
Sooo.. this Astrid character likes to put Rorona on the spot and laugh at her, in a loving way I suppose~ Astrid is also kinda lazy and naps alot and has now given Rorona ownership of the workshop.
Anyway, the story actually begins when Sterk visits the workshop. His full name is Sterkenberg Cranach, how .. odd and hard to say D:
My my so macho, anyway Sterk is a knight who under the orders of King Gio has to shut down the workshop. Oh No! Poor Rorona how is she ever going to repay her debt now? Well Sterk issues assignments throughout the game with a certain time limit usually 2-3months and performs quality checks on Rorona.
By the way this is the bastard king Gio. I mean.. he has a bastardly nature, not a real bastard... I don't know.. maybe he is. :p
Don't know why his picture file is so huge took 3x the amount of time to upload his picture compare to everyone else's
Okie so to make the story more interesting, of course you have friends! Friends who sell you items, or join a party to go hunting and material-gathering with you. As the game progresses you venture into more dangerous and far away places. The story is heavily based on time and it's very often you run out of time to complete quests. Also while you travel to the forest or ruins and dungeons you have to make sure your party can survive the trip there, the material gathering while you're there and the trip back to Arland.
I've exceeded alot of deadlines in the game and failed to complete so many quests but it doesn't really matter. The ones that count are the assignments from Sterk so I prioritize those anyway.
Right, so like any RPG you have to fight monsters and level up your party!
First we have Rorona's best friend (:
Cordelia is some sort of royalty I believe, I can't remember now :P she's like a big sister to Rorona, like a semi-bully semi-caring one who's like "Oh Rorona, what will you do withhout me? Aww, you just can't go anywhere by yourself can you?" whenever you ask her to join the party. Her skill level is similar to Rorona but I think Rorona scales much better than she does.
Cordelia gives big rewards for her personal quests too. Aside from the assignments with 2-3month deadlines from Sterk, the personal quests from Rorona's friends are smaller and have a short 1 or 2 week deadline. They help you level up your friendship and trust levels so the townsfolk will like you more and won't decide to support the king in shutting your workshop down.
Then we have Iksel, the chef.
This is the Sanji (One Piece) of the story :3 he's the chef at a cafe and sells food ingredients because Rorona likes to bake pies and stuff for birds and her master. Iksel got mad at me because I didn't bring him on a party for like 6months throughout the game. I didn't because it costs money to take your party out of Arland and Sterk is 10x stronger than Iksel so why not just take Sterk? Since you're only limited to 2 more people in a party and Cordelia is free to invite.
Iksel so far has been crap in battles but whenever I bring him out to new places like the Ortoga Ruins, or the forest, cut-scenes appear, and Iksel can help you find new materials because he's the chef and can sniff out stuff Rorona can't. So some special plants and mushrooms appear if you bring Iksel to the place and you wouldn't see them if Iksel has never been there.
Well.. Iksel does fight with a frying pan.. how strong can he get? D:
Since he has some use, I've gone on a few parties with him and he's learnt a new skill which is "My Special" which is the funniest thing ever. In the middle of a battle Iksel starts cooking and throws food at a teammate to heal them XDD !
Tiffani here, is the sundries shopkeeper
Apparently she's a great beauty in the game and men line up for her... mmm not so pretty imo, ohwell, even Rorona's dad stalks her. LOL. Well she's a great help because she sells so many key ingredients. Altho I've run out of money almost every few minutes in this game because the recipe books are so expensive and sometimes you can pay Iksel or Tiffani for quality ingredients which have better stats than those you collect from outside.
Sometimes quest request that your potions are Quality +60 or +80 and you have to either travel very far to get them or pay high prices to Tiffani or Iksel or whoever to get them D: this story reflects my life very well.Always running out of money, once you get ahold of some you have to spend it right away. ):
Lionela is a puppeteer who performs in the Square. A very very shy one.
Well she barely talks but her two puppets are quite rude and very chatty and I usually skip through everything they say because it's annoying ! ): I had a prompt saying I can bring Lionela on a party but so far after about 7hours of playing I cannot find Lionela in Arland, the square or the factories or the palace. She's just... hiding somewhere and appears in cut-scenes. Jeeez. I better find her tomorrow but I bet she's a little weakling in battle.
Tantris!
Isn't he dashing XDD
He's a flirtatious wandering musician who is actually the son of King Gio and has suddenly returned to Arland. He's only entered the story very recently and where I'm saved at is inviting him to a party to explore a new area. yayyyyy (: I hope he's strong like Sterk! I like this little devil who looks so mischievous yet charming at the same time. His father has ordered him to shut down the workshop so he's come to visit me, but he offers me help instead? So maybe he's being a rebellious son and wants to fall in love with Rorona and overthrow his silly father or maybe he's trying to trick her and capture her or banish her, Rorona blushes alot when he's around :P
Finally the last character I've met so far is Hom
the littler brother Astrid conjured out of nowhere because Rorona is the only child and Astrid has kindly offered to create an assistant for her. So I don't know maybe he's a robot ... ?
He looks abit creepy to me :x
By the way there are more characters like Etsy and Cole.. and others who I don't find are a great significance in the story ... yet. And of course there's more I haven't discovered since I've only completed Year 1 out of 3 of the game :3 It's really simple and fun and so... zen... I could play it all day~
I think my best friend DY would enjoy this game as much as I do hehehe I can just feeeeel it.

Today's been a lonnnnggg day in the workshop. Literally.
I've embarked on a quest to complete all the Atelier games ~ only because one of them is named meeee :D What on earth is Atelier? Well wiki says
Atelier is the French word for "workshop", and in English is used principally for the workshop of an artist in the fine or decorative arts, where a principal master and a number of assistants, students and apprentices worked togetherAnd that is exactly what this game about. Still don't get it? Okay.

Meet Rorona~ the first alchemist in the series. The Alchemist of Arland (that's the kingdom she lives in)
Rorona's name is actually Rorolina Frixell but she shortens everyone's name so everyone else in the game will have a nickname given by her. So Rorona is your character. All you do, or all I've done so far is control her to gather materials from the woods and fight creatures to gather their skin and drops to synthesize in her workshop and give those potions away to the townsfolk.
But why? Why must this poor girl slave away in the workshop and battle ferocious beasts and brave the rocky terrains to collect items? ):
Because, Rorona's family was saved by Astrid, Rorona's senpai, the master alchemist, I'm not sure how and what happened, but now the Frixells owe a huge debt to Astrid and poor Rorona is bound to her now.
Sooo.. this Astrid character likes to put Rorona on the spot and laugh at her, in a loving way I suppose~ Astrid is also kinda lazy and naps alot and has now given Rorona ownership of the workshop.
Anyway, the story actually begins when Sterk visits the workshop. His full name is Sterkenberg Cranach, how .. odd and hard to say D:
My my so macho, anyway Sterk is a knight who under the orders of King Gio has to shut down the workshop. Oh No! Poor Rorona how is she ever going to repay her debt now? Well Sterk issues assignments throughout the game with a certain time limit usually 2-3months and performs quality checks on Rorona.
By the way this is the bastard king Gio. I mean.. he has a bastardly nature, not a real bastard... I don't know.. maybe he is. :p
Don't know why his picture file is so huge took 3x the amount of time to upload his picture compare to everyone else's
Okie so to make the story more interesting, of course you have friends! Friends who sell you items, or join a party to go hunting and material-gathering with you. As the game progresses you venture into more dangerous and far away places. The story is heavily based on time and it's very often you run out of time to complete quests. Also while you travel to the forest or ruins and dungeons you have to make sure your party can survive the trip there, the material gathering while you're there and the trip back to Arland.
I've exceeded alot of deadlines in the game and failed to complete so many quests but it doesn't really matter. The ones that count are the assignments from Sterk so I prioritize those anyway.
Right, so like any RPG you have to fight monsters and level up your party!
First we have Rorona's best friend (:
Cordelia is some sort of royalty I believe, I can't remember now :P she's like a big sister to Rorona, like a semi-bully semi-caring one who's like "Oh Rorona, what will you do withhout me? Aww, you just can't go anywhere by yourself can you?" whenever you ask her to join the party. Her skill level is similar to Rorona but I think Rorona scales much better than she does.
Cordelia gives big rewards for her personal quests too. Aside from the assignments with 2-3month deadlines from Sterk, the personal quests from Rorona's friends are smaller and have a short 1 or 2 week deadline. They help you level up your friendship and trust levels so the townsfolk will like you more and won't decide to support the king in shutting your workshop down.
Then we have Iksel, the chef.
This is the Sanji (One Piece) of the story :3 he's the chef at a cafe and sells food ingredients because Rorona likes to bake pies and stuff for birds and her master. Iksel got mad at me because I didn't bring him on a party for like 6months throughout the game. I didn't because it costs money to take your party out of Arland and Sterk is 10x stronger than Iksel so why not just take Sterk? Since you're only limited to 2 more people in a party and Cordelia is free to invite.
Iksel so far has been crap in battles but whenever I bring him out to new places like the Ortoga Ruins, or the forest, cut-scenes appear, and Iksel can help you find new materials because he's the chef and can sniff out stuff Rorona can't. So some special plants and mushrooms appear if you bring Iksel to the place and you wouldn't see them if Iksel has never been there.
Well.. Iksel does fight with a frying pan.. how strong can he get? D:
Since he has some use, I've gone on a few parties with him and he's learnt a new skill which is "My Special" which is the funniest thing ever. In the middle of a battle Iksel starts cooking and throws food at a teammate to heal them XDD !
Tiffani here, is the sundries shopkeeper
Apparently she's a great beauty in the game and men line up for her... mmm not so pretty imo, ohwell, even Rorona's dad stalks her. LOL. Well she's a great help because she sells so many key ingredients. Altho I've run out of money almost every few minutes in this game because the recipe books are so expensive and sometimes you can pay Iksel or Tiffani for quality ingredients which have better stats than those you collect from outside.
Sometimes quest request that your potions are Quality +60 or +80 and you have to either travel very far to get them or pay high prices to Tiffani or Iksel or whoever to get them D: this story reflects my life very well.
Lionela is a puppeteer who performs in the Square. A very very shy one.
Well she barely talks but her two puppets are quite rude and very chatty and I usually skip through everything they say because it's annoying ! ): I had a prompt saying I can bring Lionela on a party but so far after about 7hours of playing I cannot find Lionela in Arland, the square or the factories or the palace. She's just... hiding somewhere and appears in cut-scenes. Jeeez. I better find her tomorrow but I bet she's a little weakling in battle.

He's a flirtatious wandering musician who is actually the son of King Gio and has suddenly returned to Arland. He's only entered the story very recently and where I'm saved at is inviting him to a party to explore a new area. yayyyyy (: I hope he's strong like Sterk! I like this little devil who looks so mischievous yet charming at the same time. His father has ordered him to shut down the workshop so he's come to visit me, but he offers me help instead? So maybe he's being a rebellious son and wants to fall in love with Rorona and overthrow his silly father or maybe he's trying to trick her and capture her or banish her, Rorona blushes alot when he's around :P
Finally the last character I've met so far is Hom
the littler brother Astrid conjured out of nowhere because Rorona is the only child and Astrid has kindly offered to create an assistant for her. So I don't know maybe he's a robot ... ?
He looks abit creepy to me :x
By the way there are more characters like Etsy and Cole.. and others who I don't find are a great significance in the story ... yet.
